Position Overview
Telespazio is seeking skilled space professionals to join the Moonlight team, a pioneering ESA program aiming to establish the first‑ever Lunar Communications and Navigation Services (LCNS). This program will lay the foundation for the growth of the lunar economy—supporting everything from moon landers to human lunar exploration and colonization.
As part of the Moonlight initiative, Telespazio is leading a multinational consortium to provide comprehensive space solutions. This includes satellite platforms, payloads, ground segments, launch services, and user terminals. In collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), we are making space history.
We are looking for a Satellite & Payload Specialist to play a pivotal role in this ambitious, end‑to‑end program.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Lead and coordinate the technical aspects of designing, developing, and qualifying satellites for cislunar communication relay services.
System Integration & Verification: Oversee system‑level integration and verification at subcontractor premises.
Test Equipment Design: Drive the design and development of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and test beds for satellite AIT and subsystem testing.
Documentation & Compliance: Review, validate, and approve technical documentation in accordance with ESA and ECSS standards.
Quality Assurance: Perform revision and acceptance of technical documentation to meet applicable standards.
Required Experience
5+ years of experience in satellite platform and payload engineering.
In‑depth knowledge of satellite subsystems, architectures, and interface management.
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end satellite systems and verification methodologies.
Familiarity with requirements engineering and configuration management tools.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Willingness to travel within Europe.
Practical experience with ECSS standards and ESA missions.
Background in communications payload design and qualification.
Location
Occasional travel to subcontractor premises (Italy, UK, and beyond)
