Research (Senior) Analyst, Italian Power MarketDepartment: ResearchEmployment Type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: Rome, ItalyDescriptionJoining our Rome Research team, you will play an active role in delivering Aurora’s Italian power market forecasts, energy policy analysis and client facing services. In doing so, you will help to guide utilities, investors, and government through the fundamental transition European power markets are facing.The successful applicant will combine strong quantitative ability with a track record of performance in team-oriented environments. You will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, and demanding yet supportive environment. You will enjoy autonomy, the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector, and to grow into an industry expert under the guidance of directors with deep experience addressing major strategic issues at the world’s leading advisory firms.We have two positions available; we are looking for successful candidates to begin the role in September 2025.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out quantitative analysis to deliver our power market forecasts and related analysisMonitor market activity, keeping up to date on the latest market developmentsDeliver both online and in-person presentations and workshops to a broad range of clientsWork closely with our modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model resultsContribute to Aurora’s product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilitiesContribute to the expansion of Aurora’s research topics and analytical toolsWhat we are looking forRequired attributes:Master’s degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics)An ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and informationAn ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical partiesStrong verbal and written communication and presentation skillsA genuine interest in energy economics and the energy transitionStrong teamworking and problem-solving skillsProficiency (C1 level) in English and ItalianBeneficial attributes:Skills in data analytics and related software (e.g. Python, Excel, SQL, Power BI)Existing knowledge or experience in the power sector or a related fieldWhat we offerSome of the benefits we include are:Meal vouchersPrivate medical insuranceCommuting allowanceEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)At AER, we are committed to offering flexibility in the way we work.
