May be exposed to sunburn and eye irritation due to chlorinated water.Position requires sustained sitting and constant vigilance to ensure maximum security of personnel in and around the swimming pool.Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (Attach proof of registration).Civilian candidates must possess a No-Fee government passport, Italian mission visa, Sponsor's Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders, or Command-sponsorship authorization, and Sojourner's permit or application letter.Military personnel, if selected, must provide PCS Orders and written authorization from their command to work during off-duty hours.QualificationsSix (6) months of general experience in any work demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of this position, and six (6) months of specialized experience OR successful completion of two (2) years of study above high school, including at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of this position, typically in or related to the work of this position.Qualified candidates will be ranked based on the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):Knowledge of various swimming skills and styles.Ability to instruct others.Skill in providing assistance in emergency situations.Ability to exercise control over a group of people.EducationIf you wish to use education as a substitution for experience, or a combination of education and experience, attach a copy of college transcripts, certificates, or other acceptable evidence when applying. Foreign college transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency; applicants are responsible for obtaining and submitting proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.
