SummaryIncumbent is involved with a variety of duties supporting the Community Recreation program, including Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) special events, information/resources, command events, visiting ships or fleet support, community events, trips, tours, outings, rental equipment, resale tickets, leisure classes, outdoor recreation, and similar services.HelpDutiesPerforms assigned duties and provides services to authorized patrons, including general information and support for Community Recreation programs. Provides facility and operation information, ensuring compliance with regulations, safety, and security procedures.Maintains routine reports and performs clerical, custodial, or general maintenance duties as needed. Operates cash register and POS system, processes transactions such as rentals, resale, and registrations; handles payments and change.Offers customer service by greeting patrons, answering calls, taking messages, and referring customer requests to staff. Tasks include inventory control, equipment inspection, restocking, POS operation, and cash handling related to program delivery.Supports Community Recreation event setup and breakdown.Performs other related duties as assigned.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentSatisfactory completion of a background investigation.Work schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.Must obtain Emergency First Responder or CPR/First Aid/AED, Customer Service, and Alcohol Safety certifications within 90 days.Position involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, and outdoor work for events.Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with the Selective Service System.Eligibility requires a No-Fee Passport, Italian mission visa, Sponsor's Orders, or Command-sponsorship authorization, and a sojourner's permit/application.QualificationsThree months of general experience or a high school diploma/GED. General experience includes any work demonstrating ability to perform the job.Candidates will be rated/ranked based on Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): basic reading comprehension, communication skills, basic computer and keyboarding skills, basic arithmetic, and customer service methods.EducationIf using education as a substitute for experience, attach a high school diploma or acceptable evidence when applying.Additional InformationFederal workplace is drug-free per Executive Order 12564.
