Run what runs the world.Denna position rapporterar till: R&D Team LeadYour role and responsibilitiesOur Mission is to innovate Power Distribution Converters for converting power flow in AC and DC distribution grids by scouting new technologies, simulating, designing, prototyping and validating new concepts deployable across all AUs in the long-term. We holistically anticipate and fulfill the future needs of Agile Teams in Product Platform and Solutions.The mission of the team you will be joining is to innovate Power Distribution Converters for converting power flow in AC and DC distribution grids. We focus on Power Distribution Converter applications, including DC microgrid building blocks and Solid State Switching Modular blocks.As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing enclosures that house DC devices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will also address critical aspects related to cooling and ventilation to maintain the efficiency of the devices.The work model for the role is hybrid.You will be mainly accountable for:Design and develop enclosures for DC devices, ensuring compatibility with various converter applications.Analyze and implement effective cooling and ventilation solutions to enhance device performance and longevity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enclosure designs with electrical and thermal requirements.Conduct simulations and prototyping to validate enclosure designs and cooling solutions.Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and best practices for safety and efficiency.Participate in testing and validation processes to ensure that enclosure components meet performance specifications.Maintaining solid knowledge in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.Finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them.Documenting work results (like findings, designs, or software), allowing others to maintain and improve them.Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area of specialization and participating in the project IP strategy development.Our team dynamicsYou will join a collaborative, dynamic, and results-driven team, where you will have the opportunity to innovate and contribute to cutting-edge technologies in power distributionQualifications for the roleBachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and development, particularly in electrical or power distribution systems.Possess an enhanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software , such as Creo 8.0 and CATIA V5 (sheet metal package is a plus) for designing enclosures and mechanical components.Knowledge of statistical analysis, tolerance analysis and experience with GD&TFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical enclosures and safety.Knowledge of power distribution technologies, including DC microgrid applications, is valued.Handles unexpected challenges, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving skills, a focus on results, and taking responsibility to execute tasks and projects within a team environment.Fluency in English required; Italian language skills are appreciated but not essential.Vi värdesätter människor med olika bakgrund.
