Role Summary
The job incumbent manages the development and application of new and the enhancement of existing products and processes in the field of membranes and membrane technology within the Business Unit Water and Membrane Solutions WMS. He/she is driving all the required aspects within development projects in identifying, developing, introducing and evaluating new and enhancing existing membrane product solutions and technologies and their transition into market ready products. The job incumbent ensures together with the project team that the development and engineering activities in the defined area of responsibility within the field of membranes and membrane technology comply with the technical standards and customer specifications as well as the project deadlines and resources.
Main Tasks
Fundamental membrane and complex membrane product development with the target to set industry benchmarks for existing and new applications with the focus on performance, cost and quality
Define and develop the products and technical standards for defined products within membrane technology and ensure their compliance on a worldwide basis
Manage the development of new membrane products comprising also activities for modular and customer specific solutions. This includes concept development, design (CAD drawings), simulation, basic testing, proof of concept and validation
Define test plan for design verification and production validation tests based on specifications to be fulfilled
Define and execute countermeasures in case product errors have been detected
Initiate tests in the test laboratory according to the test plan
Manage and lead one or more projects of defined research and development projects in the field of membrane technology within a specialist team with internal and external parties
Manage the allocation of the internal and external resources in the area of responsibility
Steer the activities of a team of chemists, engineers and (lab) technicians in defined projects

Minimum Educational Requirement
Master's Degree or Comparable Qualification in Engineering or Related fields
Experience
3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in membrane technology. Strong Technological and Innovation competence and system understanding in filtration and separation systems in membrane technology. Experience in one of more of the following fields:
Water treatment
Industrial process applications
Membrane for Food & Beverage
Energy systems
