The Railway Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the management and organization of goods within the warehouse, on behalf of Technical Management.This role ensures the proper execution of receiving, unloading, stocking, packing, handling, recording, and distributing products.The Railway Warehouse Attendant liaises directly with Technical Management and ensures that documentation supporting accurate accounting is managed consistently with company policies and administrative guidelines, with a focus on efficiency.The work location is Marghera, Venice.Key Responsibilities:Receiving Goods:Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying correspondence with purchase orders and shipping documentsVerify the integrity (quality, quantity) of the merchandiseReport any order discrepancies or damages to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4, tracking the discrepancy according to the associated IT procedurePerform loading/unloading operationsTransfer shipping documents (DDT) and loading information to Administration using the company ERP system (Workday)Storage and Organization:Organize and store goods in appropriate locations within the warehouse, adhering to storage instructions provided by the Maintenance Manager ECM 4Label products according to internal instructionsEnsure that goods are properly labeled and easily accessibleRetrieve goods (unloading) based on production or sales ordersManage the traceability of goods: daily, record incoming and outgoing materials from the warehouse electronicallyHandling of Goods:Retrieve goods (execution of unloading) based on production or sales ordersOperate handling tools and equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.) safely and effectivelyInventory and Stock Control:Conduct periodic stock checks with Administration personnel (according to policy) and update inventory recordsReport any stock discrepancies to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 and AdministrationVerify the adequacy of minimum stock levels relative to needs; propose quantity adjustments to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 as necessaryAlert the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 in case of the need for replenishmentOrder Preparation and Shipping:Prepare and pack orders for shipment, ensuring they are complete, correctly labeled, and packaged in accordance with current regulationsCoordinate with the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 to ensure timely delivery of ordersPrepare shipping documents (DDT), then contact and agree with carriers/forwardersTransfer all shipping and unloading documents to Administration using company procedures and the ERP system (Workday)Safety and Maintenance:Maintain the order and cleanliness of the warehouseComply with safety regulations and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)Report any safety or equipment maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 promptlyDocumentation and Communication:Complete and maintain up-to-date documents relating to warehouse operations according to the expectations of the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 (warehouse procedures, delivery notes, inventory records, etc.) and administrative proceduresCommunicate effectively with colleagues and the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 to ensure smooth management of warehouse activitiesPrepare reports for the allocation of materials to various ordersMiscellaneous:Assist other company warehouse staff with unforeseen warehouse activities during various company phases (seasonal and off-season)RequirementsWhat You Will Bring:Prior experience in a similar roleComputer literacy with proficiency in Word, Excel, and warehouse management software; ability to use a computer effectivelyKnowledge of warehouse procedures and safety regulationsProficiency in operating handling tools and equipment (at a minimum: forklifts, pallet trucks)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a team and communicate effectivelyProactive and rigorous approach to workIntermediate level of English proficiency.About us:The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is a legend in motion.
