Descrizione del lavoroJob Purpose:As a Quality Inspector, the candidate will work under the supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor and Quality Site Manager.The role involves all three levels of quality control: incoming, in-process, and outgoing, ensuring that products meet quality standards at each stage of production.He/she will perform timely RCAs, secure corrective actions planning and execution, and sometimes support testing and product qualifications to ensure quality products for customers.The role requires a thorough understanding and broad application of technical principles, theories, and concepts of Quality Engineering, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines.Responsibilities:Perform inspection duties to ensure conformance with company quality standards according to established procedures and methods.Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, discrepancies, or unusual situations to the supervisor or through Material Review Board (MRB).Accurately complete all internal and external reporting documentation and assemble test data packages for delivery to customers.Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, technicians, and other personnel.Conduct First Article Inspections and Tests in accordance with AS9102 and/or customer/market requirements.Assist other inspection personnel on specialized tests as requested by the Supervisor.Review customer specifications for inspections and tests.Lead Root Cause Analysis on internal quality issues and support customer quality issues when necessary.Contribute to process improvements, identifying areas for enhancement in manufacturing, and proposing solutions to improve product quality.Assist with cross-training of quality control inspectors.Participate in all Smiths Connectors EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training requirements.Perform other related duties as required or directed.Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.Support internal audits.Qualifications:University degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and methodologies.Ability to use measuring equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, calipers, x-ray machines, hardness testers, optical comparators, spring force testers, multimeters, go/no-go gauges, etc.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.Strong attention to detail.Computer skills including database entry and reporting with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Basic knowledge of material flow, including warehouse, shipment, and factory material handling.Knowledge in Product and Process Design (e.g., APQP, PPAP, CTQ, technical drawings, verification/validation, reliability).Knowledge in Product and Process Control (e.g., traceability, sampling, measurement equipment, MSA, FAI, metrology, NDT).Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, IATF16949, ISO13485, ISO9001).Knowledge of Risk Management (e.g., SWAT, FMEA).Additional Information:Preferred: 1-3 years of experience.Knowledge of AS9102 FAI template.Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and methods.Knowledge of industrial application programs (e.g., ERP, PDM, CRM, EQMS).Characteristics: Effective listener, conflict resolver, good communication skills, results-oriented.Capabilities: Problem-solving, understanding business operations, teamwork.Capacity: Conflict resolution, team-oriented.We believe diverse perspectives and backgrounds foster company success.
