As a Quality Inspector the candidate will work under the supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor and Quality Site Manager.The role involves all three levels of quality control : incoming in-process and outgoing ensuring that products meet quality standards at each stage of production.He / she will perform timely RCAs securing corrective actions planning and execution and will sometimes support also testing and product qualifications to ensure quality product to customers.The role requires a thorough understanding and broad application of technical principles theories and concepts of Quality Engineering as well as general knowledge of other related disciplines.Responsibilities :Perform inspection duties to ensure conformance with established company quality standards in accordance with established procedures and methodsReport improper operation faulty equipment defective materials any discrepancies or unusual situations to the supervisor or through Material Review Board (MRB)Accurately complete all needed internal and external reporting documentation and assemble test data packages to be delivered to customersEffectively communicate with supervisors operators technicians and all other personnelConduct First Article Inspections and Tests in accordance with AS9102 and / or customer / market requirementsAssist other inspection personnel on specialized tests as requested by the SupervisorReview customer specifications for inspections and testsLead Root Cause Analysis on internal quality issues and when necessary support also on Customer quality issuesContribute to improving processes identifying areas for improvement in the manufacturing process and proposing solutions to enhance product qualityMay assist with cross-training of quality control inspectorsCompliance and participation in all Smiths Connectors EHS programs policies procedures and training requirementsPerform other related and associated duties as required or directedMaintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditionSupport in internal AuditsQualifications :Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities :University degree in Mechanical or Chemical EngineeringKnowledge of Quality Assurance processes and methodologiesAbility to utilize various types of measuring equipment such as microscopes micrometers calipers x-ray machine hardness tester optical comparators spring force testers multimeters go / no-go gages etc.Ability to provide and to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to read and to understand engineering drawingsStrong attention to detailComputer skills including database entry reporting with Microsoft Word Excel Power PointBasic knowledge of material flow including Warehouse shipment and factory material handling meansKnowledge in Product and Process Design (e.g. APQP PPAP CTQ Technical Drawings and Specifications Verification / Validation Reliability)Knowledge in Product and Process Control (e.g. Traceability sampling measurement equipment MSA FAI metrology NDT)Basic knowledge in Quality Management Systems (e.g. AS9100 IATF16949 ISO13485 ISO9001)Knowledge of Risk Management (e.g. SWAT FMEA)Preferred :1-3 years of work experienceKnowledge of AS9102 template for FAIKnowledge of Continuous Improvement methods and toolsKnowledge in industrial application programs (e.g. ERP PDM CRM EQMS)Characteristics : Effective Listener addresses conflict directly establishes effective channels of communication and monitors resultsCapabilities : Solving internal problems understanding how business operates working effectively with othersCapacity : Confronts and resolves conflicts team orientedRemote Work : Employment Type :Full-timeKey SkillsHR Administration,Access Control System,General Ledger Accounting,Facilities Management,AIX,Courier DeliveryExperience : yearsVacancy : 1Quality Engineer • Genoa, Liguria, Italy
