Backend Engineer (Python / Django) Remote (locations listed below) | Full time | Permanent
A fast-growing fintech scale-up is looking for an experienced backend engineer to help shape the future of its financial platform. With recent backing from top-tier institutional investors and a track record of supporting thousands of businesses worldwide, the company provides fast solutions that power B2B growth.
You’ll be joining a cross-functional, globally distributed engineering team, building out core financial services and infrastructure that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
Building and scaling backend services using Python, Django or similar frameworks
Designing and maintaining clean, well-structured REST APIs
Working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and designing performant schemas
Writing clean, tested, production-ready code
Collaborating closely with product, data, and design teams to ship new features
Monitoring application performance and addressing reliability or security concerns
Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions
Supporting continuous improvement across the team
What we're looking for
3+ years of backend engineering experience (multiple levels available), ideally with Python / Django
Deep knowledge of API design, microservices, and scalable systems
Experience working with SQL databases and ORMs
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
Comfort with Git, testing frameworks (e.g., pytest), and CI/CD workflows
A strong grasp of security best practices and data protection principles
Effective communication skills in English, collaborative team spirit, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Bonus points if you’ve worked in fintech or product-led SaaS businesses, but we’re open to strong engineers from all industries.
