Overview
As a Design Electrical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, remediation of issues, upgrading existing infrastructure, and adding new services. You will be the go-to engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.
Responsibilities

Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline.
Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. Be detail- and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes.
Experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants. Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction, and Design).
Travel as needed (up to 25%).

The Day-to-Day
Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers. You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline and may work on projects locally and globally.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to our services. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
8+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)


Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years data center design experience.
Chartered Engineer.
Prior project management experience; PMP/Prince2.
