Join to apply for the Product Engineer - Helmets role at AlpinestarsDirect message the job poster from AlpinestarsPositionWe are looking for an PRODUCT ENGINEER – HELMETS to join the R&D department who will develop and maintain the complete 3D and 2D design of helmet components, ensuring technical quality, manufacturability and alignment with product vision. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming ideas into solid and production-ready solutions, contributing to innovation and performance.Role Responsibilities and ActivitiesYou will create and maintain 3D models and 2D technical drawings for all helmet components (outer shell, EPS, liner, vent systems, accessories, visors).You will actively participate in the entire product development process: concept, design, prototyping, industrialization.You will also envisage and model technical solutions (snap-fits, vents, modular parts, integration with interiors).You will ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) compliance for new models in development.You will liaise closely and collaborate with external suppliers and toolmakers (mainly in Asia) for design verification and tooling feedback.You will support physical validation and 3D printed prototype reviews, ensuring each part matches its related functional expectations.You will contribute to BOM setup, part coding and revision management through PLM Centric.You will work cross-functionally, collaborating closely with Design, Project Management and Prototyping teams for continuous iteration and alignment.You will also provide documentation and support for production kick-offs.RequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering and / or Industrial design.A minimum of 2 years’ experience in product CAD design (helmets, consumer goods, sports equipment, automotive).Excellent knowledge of CATIA V5/V6.Familiarity with mechanical fasteners, assemblies, vents, adjusters, and helmet-specific components.Knowledge of mechanical kinematics and materials (thermoplastics, composites, foams), as well as most common production process (injection moulding, thermoforming, lamination).Previous experience with PLM platforms (Centric preferred) for part tracking, revision, and BOMs.Knowledge in helmet products, helmet construction, the scope of every helmet component, as well as the basic concept of impact energy management will be considered a plus.Solid communication and teamwork skills and detail-oriented mindset.Fluent in English (Italian is a plus).Other informationLocation: Asolo, TV (Italy)Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionProduct Management and DesignIndustries: Retail Apparel and Fashion and Sporting Goods Manufacturing
