This mission is assigned to Ansaldo Green Tech – a Company focused on the energy transition business, incorporated in 2021 and fully owned by Ansaldo Energia, which has inherited from Ansaldo Energia specific know-how and capabilities.
Position
Scope:
Define the configuration and the sizing of the product systems, and related equipment (including auxiliary systems), in respect of contractual requirements and guaranteed performances
Main activities:
Design the process for systems and size the relevant components
Ensure expected operation applying knowledge and practice related to functional aspects of components and plants
Issue components technical specification, data sheets, functional requirements for RFQ
Estimate thermal loads on components and design their cooling systems, applying knowledge of heat exchange fundamentals and cooling technologies
Define main instrumentation to be installed in plants and components
Size pipeline and parts for piping lines (pipes, holders, drains, vents, valves, insulation,…) in accordance with process operation and performances requirements
Calculate and measure performances for components and plant and to identify proper corrective actions in case of misalignments
Ensure the project to be compliant to international rules and standards
Closely iterate with other functional teams like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Works, Automation
Requirements
MS in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent
At least 5 years of work experience in related fields
Knowledge and practice related to the commissioning and start up of components, systems and plants
Knowledge of assessment methodologies for environmental impact (e.g. electromagnetic fields, waste water, air quality).
Knowledge of main plant components and their integration in order to define the plant configuration
Management of external suppliers
Spirit of initiative, passionate for technology and research/development/Innovation themes
Good problem-solving skills, ability to identify and develop new ideas and initiatives, able to turn ideas into practice.
Autonomy in priority identification in compliance with company objectives
Nice to have
Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently under limited supervision
Technical writing skills and ability to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally across all technical teams and disciplines
