Job Description Summary
Role
As Principal Data Manager, you will hold a combined technical and leadership position within our global data management department. You will lead data management projects, support resource management and deployment, and collaborate with the Director of Data Management to maintain effective departments across various locations, focused on delivering high-quality data management outputs and customer care. This role is home-based in the EU, UK, or USA.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and drive the Data Management team on assigned projects, mentoring and coaching team members, and prioritizing work.
Serve as the reference point for the Sponsor and the project’s Data Management lead to develop data collection specifications from all sources.
Manage data flow activities and ensure delivery of a quality database according to the project plan.
Ensure Data Management tasks for studies are completed on time and within budget.
Recommend process improvements and standards development.
Contribute to strategic planning within the department.
Bridge scientific or medical knowledge with data management processes to ensure appropriate data collection tools, validation, and integration for clinical datasets.
Analyze data capture issues and develop high-quality solutions.
Provide consultancy on Data Management aspects to other groups outside CDM.
Educate and train team members on data collection tools and query management processes.
Contribute to formal training for new staff.
Manage relationships with vendors and clients to meet expectations and achieve results.
Represent Data Management in meetings such as Investigator's Meetings and Kick-Off Meetings.
Lead data management activities for complex projects.
Support the maintenance of an effective data management department.
Design Case Record Forms and oversee CRF approval processes.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

Degree in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biology, or related fields.
At least 6 years of experience in data management in a pharmaceutical or CRO environment (preferred).
Expertise in one or more DM systems or processes, recognized for their proficiency.
