NoOffer DescriptionThe position targets the design and evaluation of novel architectures, programming paradigms, and parallel algorithms for AI accelerators, addressing the inefficiencies of von Neumann systems.The successful candidate will contribute to EU-funded research on:Computer system architectures & AI accelerators (NoC topology, task placement, communication algorithms)Parallel programming models and runtimes for emerging architectures (e.g., processing-in-memory, SRAM-centric)Performance modelling & optimisation of ML algorithms on unconventional acceleratorsHardware–software co-design for AI and transformer-based models.ResponsibilitiesConduct cutting-edge research in parallel computing and AI acceleratorsDevelop and lead externally funded projectsTeach and supervise at undergraduate, master’s, and PhD levelsCollaborate with academic and industrial partnersDisseminate results in top-tier conferences and journalsRequirementsPhD in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent foreign degree). Candidates completing a PhD within 6 months may apply.Up to 6 publications submitted with the application in top-tier venues and journalsResearch proposal (max 6 pages) in one of the following areas:Parallel programming models and runtimes for AI accelerators;Algorithms and data structures for AI kernels;Scalable systems for machine learning (training, inference, edge);HW-SW co-design for computer vision on novel architectures;Desired skillsAdvanced knowledge in computer architectureParallel programming of HPC/AI accelerators (CUDA, OpenMP, SYCL, etc.)SalaryGross annual: €39,224Application Deadline07 October 2025, 12:00 (CET) via University of Trento application portal:
