About The Position
We are looking for a Plant Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Plant Quality team, reporting directly to the Plant Quality Manager. This position is based at our office in Corbetta.
Your Responsibilities Will Be

Interface between suppliers, Incoming control, production and quality for the analysis and solving of problems.
Contribute to company objectives and global quality performance from the external suppliers.
Manage quality claims due to an external supplier after SOP (start of production), guarantee that the problem is definitively solved and ensure proper Lesson Learnt implementation.
Support the non‑quality cost recovery process.
Ensure the implementation of the containment action at supplier site to protect plant and customer.
Check and challenge the root cause, corrective actions efficiency and standardization, manage the problem‑solving cycle time from external suppliers.
Launch the escalation process.
Lead the Controlled Shipping Level/Firewall implementation and monitor the results until validation of effective corrective actions.
On‑site visit at suppliers to check the corrective actions efficiency, perform line review or process audit when relevant and required.
Guarantee the supplier cost recovery process execution through SQP and SCR tool.
Follow 8D process and conformity of report from external suppliers and share it with the requester.
Support the internal functions in case of change in supplier process / component.
Support IATF or customer audit at plant level.

Education & Former Experience

Bachelor degree or above in Industrial sectors (mechanical, electrical, materials engineering, physics or equivalent, preferable in the area of his/her business).
Experience in the technical field and automotive quality.
Travel required (30‑50%), mainly domestic and some international.

Other Skills That We Would Welcome

Experience in Process Audit (qualified Auditor according to VDA 6.3 preferred).
Flexibility, pragmatic and fast in reaction, able to organize work independently and manage complex business.
Attitude to work in team.
Focus on results.
Knowledge and practice of quality tools: Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Process capabilities, Pareto, problem solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Control plan, experience capitalization, etc.).
Analysis and synthesis skills, ability to propose solutions and take responsibilities, bear up to pressure, deal with suppliers management.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements, related tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC) and their application.
Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements.
Teamwork spirit.
Able to negotiate and convince, to manage meetings.
Good knowledge of MS Office suites.
Fluent written and spoken English.
