The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a strong leader to oversee facility operations at Arizona State Prison Complex – Eyman. If you're ready to make an impact in facility management, apply today!Job Duties :Responsible for timely and effective planning and implementation of all programs, work projects, and activities that include repairs, remodel, replacement, construction, costing, and scheduling of buildings, equipment, and toolsPreparation of detailed, accurate reportsSupervises, manages, assigns, and inspects subordinates and tradesmen work assignments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures of all completed projects for building repairs, maintenance, and construction, to include water supply, sewer waste water treatment plant, and the electrical supplyTrains and certifies staff in heavy equipment operationPrepares, replaces, and settles all warranty claimsCoordinates all-natural gas inspectionsReviews and interprets blueprints, schematics, and sketches for private contractor bidsOversees and consults new prison construction with complex Warden, Deputy Warden of Operations, and Physical Plant -Operations Administrator / Physical Plant DirectorOrders and tracks materials and confers with engineering firms, contractors, and State and Federal agenciesConfers with engineering firms, contractors, and State and Federal agenciesDrives on State businessPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge of :Supervisory and management techniquesSafety practices and National and local building codesPreventative repair maintenance, equipment, new construction, and remodeling methods / techniquesBlueprints, sketches, and schematics and structural components of building construction and repairsService contractsArizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulationsBasic computer skills and computer software to create reports, charts, and conduct researchSkill in :Coordinating, scheduling, and assigning work projectsDeveloping and implementing preventive maintenance programs and related repairRemodeling and construction activitiesEffective communication and complex written directivesReading and interpreting blueprints and schematicsPreparing reports, charts and conducting researchEstablishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with all organizational levels and outside entitiesMaking quick and accurate decisionsProblem-solving techniquesSupervising, managing, and teaching methodsWritten and verbal communicationAbility to :Apply and inspect for compliance and National and local building codesLearn, interpret, and apply department policies and proceduresPrioritize work assignments to meet deadlinesWork in a prison environmentSelective Preference(s) :One (1) year of experience or equivalent to a Physical Plant Supervisor II; or two (2) years of experience or equivalent to a Physical Plant Supervisor ICollege / vocational computer training, workshops, seminars, and in-service trainingPre-Employment Requirements :Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical / physical examination.If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
