As Pope Francis said in Laudato Si’, we believe that “truly, much can be done!”About this positionThe People Operations Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the team, ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential execution of the people operations processes. This role will support key People Operations projects, initiatives, and tasks, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and healthy working environment.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitmentPost job ads on the Freshteams portal and complete the screening of candidates.Coordinate the skills test with candidatesCoordinate and schedule interviews with candidatesConduct the reference check for the assigned candidatesOnboardingCoordinate with the Operations Administrative Assistant on the development of the onboarding site.Coordinate the onboarding sessions: develop the agenda, define participants, speakers, dates, and times.Follow up with managers on the onboarding of new team members.Remind managers about the completion of the 90‑day Review.PerformanceFollow up with staff on completing the Mid‑year Review and Annual ReflectionTraining and DevelopmentSupport the People Operations Manager in the development of a training plan.Support the People Operations Manager in the coordination of the manager’s call: prayer, topics, etc.Volunteer CoordinationReceive requests from managersStart recruiting volunteers by posting the offer on FreshteamsUpdate and send the volunteer agreement.Coordinate an onboarding session with volunteersPrepare the volunteer certificate and send it to the volunteerInternal NewsletterCollect important information to be published in the internal newsletter.Coordinate with the Comms team on the internal newsletter publication.OtherSupport specific projects and other activities indicated by the People Operations Manager.Provide other operational support to LSM staff and other duties as needed.Skills and CharacteristicsEssentialBachelor’s degree in Psychology, Management, Work Relations, Social Work, or any other related field.2 years of experience working in similar positions, preferably in nonprofits or mission‑driven organizations.Deep understanding of Human Resources processes and management.Understanding of employment laws and regulations.Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack, and Zoho.Proficiency in Freshteams or any other Recruitment tool/platform.Endorses and embodies LSM values and the Laudato Si’ paradigm in behavior and words; comfortable supporting and working in a faith‑based environment.Strong communication and attention to detail skills.Comfortable working with international teams in a diverse environment.Desirable1 year of experience in Volunteer ManagementKnowledge of Internal Communication or former experience developing internal communication tools.LanguagesEnglish and Spanish are necessary for this role.
