We are changemakers engaged in knowledge transfer and exchange, research, capacity building, and advocacy within and across multiple systems.The Centre is looking for a professional, motivated, and dynamic individual interested in working with women living with HIV to join the team.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive HIV Primary CarePerform excellent clinical assessments combined with sound clinical judgment/diagnostic and treatment skills – within full scope of practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards of practice for Registered Nurses in the Extended Class (NPs).Support pregnancy planning for women living with HIVPerform initial prenatal assessments prior to referring to Obstetrician and MidwiferySupport access to a cascade of services inclusive HIV treatment, support and care including adherence and retention in careProvide clinical support to other primary care providers by assisting with follow-up, urgent, and other client appointments as needed to ensure timely access to care and optimize clinic flow.Complete timely and accurate medical records of client encounters, documentation and third-party correspondence using the Centre’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.Contribute to activities related to the development, implementation and evaluation of medical directives, policies and procedures, best practices and clinical protocolsParticipate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counselling and health promotion programs and services related to HIV for individuals, groups and the communities.Participate in chart reviews, case conferences and accreditation activitiesMay provide clinical supervision and training for NP students.Ability to work a flexible schedule with at least one evening per week.Perform other duties as assigned that are reasonable with scope of practice.QualificationsUndergraduate degree in nursing from a recognized universityRegistration in the Extended Class with the College of Nurses of OntarioHold a Prescribing Narcotics and Controlled Substances certificate endorsed by the CNO.Specialization (or interest to specialize) in HIV treatment, support and care and related issuesThree to five years of nursing experience in a community setting or a combination of community and hospital or public health settings; experience in a primary care setting, an asset.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively and respectfully in a collaborative, inter-professional team environment.Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.Knowledge of women’s health issues.Knowledge of HIV and its impact on racialized womenExperience in prenatal care is an assetProficiency in the use of computers and various software applications.In addition to English, knowledge of a language spoken within one of the four priority communities, an asset.ReportingThis position reports to the Director of Primary Health Care ServiceApplication ProcessTo apply for this challenging opportunity in a dynamic organization please forward your resume and cover letter with the subject line: “Nurse Practitioner, HIV Program” to the attention of:Women’s Health in Women’s Hands Community Health CentreHuman Resources Departmentrecruitment@whiwh.comApplication DeadlinePosted: May 5, 2025Closing Date: Until filledCompensation: $122,178 AnnuallyWHIWH is committed to reflecting the diversity of the communities it serves.
