Job Responsibilities:
Oversees implementation of the core functions of public health nursing assessment, assurance, and policy development.
Leads team in pandemic planning, response, surge, and recovery efforts.
Leads epidemiology investigations of outbreaks, contact tracing, and education/training.
Directs community assessments and surveys to develop public health programs.
Conducts annual inspections and reviews of Child, Youth, and School Service (CYSS) programs.
Performs patient assessments and follow-up for infectious diseases.
Requirements:
Must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration if male born after December 31, 1959.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
Must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program as per DoD Instruction 1315.19.
Sign a statement (Condition of Employment) for seasonal influenza vaccination or provide exemption.
Pre-placement medical examination required.
Must obtain and maintain BLS certification through the American Red Cross.
Credentialing and privileging requirements must be met and maintained.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 44 pounds required.
Valid driver's license required.
Shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations required.
Ability to obtain and maintain Military Driver's License.
Qualifications:
Open to U.S. Citizens.
Degree from an accredited nursing educational program; transcripts required.
Current, active, unrestricted nursing license; pass the NCLEX.
Foreign degree requires certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.
Current federal employees in the 0610 series employed since September 27, 2017, may be exempt.
Professional nursing experience including assessments, contact tracing, reporting diseases, health education, and inspections (typical of GS-11 level).
No substitution of education for experience permitted.
