Casella Construction is seeking to hire a Night Loader Operator who will operate heavy machinery used in supplying the plant with appropriate aggregate materials.The Night Loader Operator will assist in keeping accurate inventory control, providing excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This position will assist in the maintenance of the grounds, organization and daily care of equipment. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of heavy equipment operation experience, a strong safety mindset, excellent customer service skills, flexibility for night shifts and travel, and the ability to maintain professionalism and accurate records.Responsibilities:Maintains a safe work environmentSafely operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including loaders, bulldozers, and excavators to complete job tasksTransports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sitesPrepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavationPractices safety by estimating weights and distances and by being fully aware of surroundingsConducts daily pre and post equipment inspectionsMonitors gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation of equipmentMaintains records of time worked and materials usedCompletes daily paperworkPerforms other related duties as assignedOperate a Caterpillar 980M loader with Loadrite scalesReport directly to the day operator for immediate assistanceCommunicate with the manager for overall guidanceTraining requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.Qualifications:Must be 18 years or olderHigh School or GED preferredValid Driver’s License1-2 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator (Haul Truck, Loader)Understanding of safety rules and regulationsExperience with construction jobsite layouts and gradingMust be able to work some weekends and/or nights, when neededMust be able to travel out of town for a day and/or a weekAbility to participate in regulatory trainings (First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Flagging, Spotter)Knowledge of MSHA compliance preferred (training available for the right candidate)Schedule:Sunday night through Thursday nightSpring Hours (May – October): 5 PM - 3 AMShift Differential for Night Hours WorkedAttributes:Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.Ability to remain flexible as assignments change.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with coworkers and supervisor.Good communication skills both verbal and written.Possess a positive attitude and desire to learn.Sound knowledge of construction and practical experience with tools and equipment.Organized with a systematic approach to achieve accuracy and efficiency.Great hand, eye, and foot coordination.Exhibit attention to detail.Familiar with Safety Protocols.Proficiency in math and reading.Physical Requirements:Must have physical strength, balance, hand eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.Must be able to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift.Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.Must be able to work outdoors in all weather.Compensation and Benefits:Casella Construction offers competitive wages and a full benefits package to eligible employees that includes:Medical, Dental and Vision InsurancesVoluntary Short & Long-Term Disability.Voluntary Accident and Critical Illness Insurance.Company Paid Life Insurance.Company Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off.EAP (Employee Assistance Program)401(k) Retirement Savings Program with up-to 4% company match and immediate vesting.Hourly Hiring Range$22.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.In recognition of the unique requirements of this position, a 10% Shift Differential is eligible for night hours workedAbout our Company:Joseph Casella and John Casella II are the second generation of the Casella family, carrying on a legacy that was built on hard work, grit, determination, and most of all, innovation.
