National Corporate Account Manager

Role Purpose
As a member of RS Corporate Account team, the Corporate Account Manager assumes direct responsibility for the corporate accounts in the assigned portfolio and assumes accountability for the consistent roll‑out in the various sites with close collaboration with local stakeholders. This will be done via a “top‑down” approach via the management of the national portfolio as well as supporting a “bottom‑up” approach via the local teams.
Responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of national Corporate Customers with a solutions‑growth mindset.
Developing a specific sales strategy for each customer within the portfolio to optimise sales and profitability.
Leading and coordinating actions with internal sales, field sales, corporate organisations and support functions.
Forecasting and managing the budget: sales, margin and ROI of the contracts belonging to the portfolio.
Conducting market analysis (industry sector if no industry vertical director), competition and trends.
Project managing and facilitating the deployment of contracts across the market and sites.
Coordinating support from other functions such as supply chain, logistics, digital, finance, technical and marketing.
Ensuring consistency of compliance programs across all sites.
Identifying service development opportunities to enhance the RS Offer and expand customer penetration.
Acting as the single point of contact for any future national opportunities presented to the market for the assigned industry/area.
Negotiating contracts including commercial and legal terms and conditions for the mutual benefit of both parties.
Capturing and updating customer organisation charts to identify key decision makers and develop contracts.
Assessing potential of customers, identifying share of wallet expansion.
Implementing EMEA contracts according to the central contract strategy.
Prospecting and acquiring new opportunities.
Implementing value‑added solutions with support from technical experts.
Monitoring opportunities and driving customer information on CRM.
Broadening the account network of contacts in target personas.
Validating relevant customer spend potential and understanding opportunities that fill the gap between spend potential and current revenue.
Discovering customer procurement, inventory management and maintenance challenges and processes.
Developing a specific account plan for each customer with short/medium/long‑term clear goals to grow customer share of wallet.
Working with the marketing team to identify and develop specific actions to accelerate customer growth.
Monitoring and identifying new tenders in existing customers for new business.

Desirable Skills & Experience
Significant experience in an Account Management role in a global blue‑chip company.
Experience from a complex distribution business or solutions provider.
Experience in MRO procurement strategy, e‑Procurement or inventory solutions.
An appreciation for the product commodities we distribute (Process Control and Automation, Electrical and Test and Measurement, Electronics, Tools and Consumables).
Knowledge of specific sector customers and/or competitors (Manufacturing, Food & Beverage Production, Government, Aerospace, Defence, Transport, Utilities and FM).
