The role includes ensuring compliance with laboratory accreditation and regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Responsibilities may include collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens.Primary Location: Casa Grande, ArizonaDepartment: Lab-BCGMCWork Shift: NightJob Category: Laboratory ScienceCore FunctionsPerform accurate and timely testing according to policies, including startup, calibration, and maintenance of equipment. Participate in problem-solving and quality assurance activities. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of computer systems and testing theories. Assist in compliance and assume lead responsibilities when needed.Monitor and validate patient and QC results, participate in process improvements, and contribute to department and system projects. Train and evaluate staff, and provide educational support to internal and external customers.Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring proper identification and specimen integrity.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone directly; may oversee Medical Lab Technicians, Clinical Lab Assistants, Phlebotomists indirectly.Scope and ComplexityWork involves interdepartmental communication with internal staff and external clients, within the department and laboratory system.Physical DemandsRequires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and handling hazardous materials with standard precautions.
