Valmet Gorizia is the global owner to produce hoods and air systems used in the drying phase of tissue paper manufacturing. It is also the global owner of energy optimization systems, energy‑saving solutions, and sustainability technologies in the drying sector, as well as systems for environmental control within paper mills (ventilation room control systems and mist/dust management systems).

The purpose of the position is to execute mechanical detail engineering for sold projects, in accordance with technical specifications, project budgets, and savings targets. Additional responsibilities include supporting surveys, field measurements, and erection supervision activities.
The position reports to the Manager of Air TU Mechanical Engineering and works closely with Gorizia production, the engineering team, and various departments such as sales, finance, procurement, and administration. It also involves collaboration with customers, suppliers, consultants, and the project execution team, as well as frequent interactions with other Air TU engineering members.
Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities Will Be
Execute project and design activities according to technical specifications, international and local standards, project schedule and safety issues, always keeping in mind the overall project cost.
Prepare the technical documentation related with the drawings and the scope of supply, according to internal procedures and standards.
Work as erection advisor in selected cases and projects.
Support the development of the Air Tissue Unit’s own products; provide innovative solutions to reduce costs, solve problems, and support product development.
Support the development of the use engineering software and tools.
Support the sales department in the development of pre‑sale layouts or other drawings and in reviewing specifications and budget estimates to complete projects.
Contribute actively to fixing the non-conformity cases due to design activity. Prevent repeated mistakes by keeping all the documents properly updated through continuous improvement activities.
Execute all the project activities (drawing, revisions, archiving) according to the tracking principle set by the ISO 9001 system.
What We’re Looking For
Educational background in Mechanical Engineering.
Advanced experience with AutoCAD and 3D engineering software, Catia V6.
Strong ability to perform engineering calculations accurately.
Experience with PDM tools for creating and managing Bills of Material.
Fluent English (spoken and written) and fluent Italian.
Good command of common IT tools.
Willingness to travel within the company’s market areas, both in Italy and abroad (up to 20% of the working time).
Ability to standardize designs to reduce costs.
Willingness to work in cross‑functional teams and collaborate effectively.
