A Material Manager manages or performs work related to the procurement, supply, and logistics of manufacturing materials. Responsibilities include:Establishing operational plans for the job areaDeveloping and implementing new products, processes, standards, or operational plans impacting functional resultsCommunicating with leadershipThe Material Manager will drive harmonized processes to sustainably reduce inventory levels, achieve high service levels, optimize material flows, stock levels, and maintain efficient and resilient inventory management.Your responsibilities:Harmonize processes to optimize stock levels through efficient ERP usageDefine measurements to analyze optimal stock levelsLiaise with the Supply Chain function to ensure smooth material flow and resilient supply chainStreamline procurement procedures for smooth material flowDefine harmonized inventory storage proceduresImplement robust material planning processes to fulfill customer demandsIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks earlyForecast and analyze inventory levels to ensure efficient routinesIdentify and drive improvements in purchase processesUphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrityYour background:Minimum 15 years of experience as Material Manager or CoordinatorUniversity degree in engineering, materials, or related fieldOperational and inventory mindsetStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projectsExperience working with large, remote, multi-cultural teamsExcellent project management skills with initiative, structuring, and prioritization abilitiesContinuous improvement knowledge is a plusProficiency in SAPStrong communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus
