Thanks to our diversity of skills, talents and cultures, our customers (governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators), therefore have Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.ResponsibilitiesDefinition of material development plans such as per composite synthesis, surface coatings, innovative nanostructured materialsDefinition of quantitative-qualitative characterization tests on materials taking into account space quality standardCoordination of validation tests including conducting tests at material and demonstrator levelOrganization and follow-on of laboratory activities in R&D projects and running programsProject follow-up, writing of qualification programs, synthesis of supplier/laboratory tests and redaction of conclusion reportsPropose and qualify materials and processes (including documentation: standards, specification, testing reports & manufacturing instructions…)Participation to progress meetings and project reviews preparing the required technical documentation and answer/discussion of customer RIDsAble to capitalize on best engineering practices and propose recommendations and improvementsQualificationsStrong background in metallurgyDeep knowledge of material characterization techniques as XPS, SEM/EDX, OM ..Knowledge in Material sustainabilityKnowledge in LCA applied to Space SystemMaster degree in Material Eng/Chemistry or equivalentExperience working as a researcherAble to manage multiple tasks at one timeOrganized and methodical with strong communication skillsHigh team working capabilities and customer orientationGood will in facing and learning new thingsExperience on Additive manufacturingis considered a plusFluent English (spoken and written)Available for business travels in Italy and abroadAttitude towards innovation and problem solvingAt Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
