Assure a smooth transition of products from the initial design phase to the high volume manufacturing phase, up to the end of life.
Process Design and Development, according to the Lean Manufacturing rules, in order to enhance product performance and functionality, to improve quality and manufacturability and to recommend changes to reduce the overall manufacturing cost of a product.
Key tasks and accountabilities
Assures manufacturing process development work outputs in line with APQP and project plan:
Define and develop the processes flow of new and existing products according to Lean Manufacturing Rules and industry 4.0 methods.
Process FMEA and control plan;
Process verification reports (also provided by other team members);
Process final qualification and readiness
Drive the design of the production flows and PFMEA analysis of new products bringing to the attention of the product designers the performance data of the manufacturing equipment.
Supports Quality and Manufacturing team during PPAP and Customer audit.
Drafts high level technical specification for Tool Design team to enable the design and construction of assembly and test tools and equipment.
Propose and implement corrective actions and/or improvement on processes issued.
Collaborates with all the team/function involved with the aim to release to the production the equipment and the process according to the performance level foreseen.
Report on the progress of projects.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
Excellent ability to team work, Leadership and decision making.
Excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools: Kaizen, VSM, 5S, Six sigma, Kanban.
Deep understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes such as electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Excellent understanding of Quality Standards required in mass Automotive or Consumer product manufacturing (FMEA).
Must have technical / professional qualifications
Degree in Engineering/Mechanical or Electronics Engineering (or similar), experience within medium-sized production contexts
