We are looking for a motivated M&A Insurance Analyst to join our team in Madrid. You will work closely with our underwriters to review key deal documents, such as share purchase agreements and due diligence reports, and assist in evaluating risks related to M&A transactions. The Mediterranean M&A team is part of our wider global M&A team with offices in 10 countries. The role will include the ability to work cross-border with global team members.Transactional Risk insurance is a growing industry where we assess all risk aspects of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions with a view to providing insurance products to international PE funds and corporates. We work with the biggest law firms, accountants and tax advisors and look at deals across all business sectors. The analyst role gives great insight into the M&A and insurance industry with the possibility of progressing towards an underwriting role.About the positionAs our new M&A Insurance Analyst, you will be an integral part of a dynamic, high-performing team, working across multiple stages of M&A transactions and providing smooth, efficient and high-quality insurance underwriting support.Examples of responsibilities include :Managing incoming flow of deal opportunities from brokers including accurate and timely input of data into relevant underwriting systemsAnalysing M&A transactions, including reviewing legal transaction documents (SPA & warranty deeds) business background information (IM & financial statements), due diligence reports and underlying materialsSetting up clear and well-organised electronic filesAssisting Underwriters with the preparation of initial terms and policiesFostering strong local relationships with key specialist brokersAssisting the team and wider business with ad hoc marketing and research projectsA great match for usIdeally you would will be a recent graduate in law, with a strong interest in M&A. The role might be of particular interest to people who also have a background in business or finance. Previous work experience in a top-tier law firm or Big4 is desirable but not essential.In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who is / has :Law degree; preferably from a top-tier university in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal or LatAm. Additional education or experience is also valuedProficient in English and Spanish, with knowledge of French, Italian, or Portuguese being also valuedHighly organized with the ability to plan and prioritize work, using their own initiativeExcellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detailExceptional communication skills, both written and verbalExperienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and TeamsAbility to work independently and within a teamAbility to demonstrate that they are eligible to work in SpainInterested in the position?We are looking forward to receiving your CV and cover letter of application.
