This role will work closely with IT and operations teams to design and develop advanced technologies, fostering a data-driven, high-performance work environment.The Project Engineer will be included in the engineering team focused on consumer, gross distribution and healthcare sectors. It is a strategic role for assessing and implementing innovations, delivering tangible improvement in line with the industry advancements. They will serve as the point of contact among various internal teams, gathering requirements and listening to colleagues’ needs to create effective solutions aligned with the company’s goals.
ResponsibilitiesCarry out activities with safety first, in compliance with workplace safety regulations (Legislative Decree 81/08) and safety procedures.Identify innovation opportunities, analyze operational processes, and propose innovative technological solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.Define, design, and implement advanced automation systems (robotics, AGVs, automated storage systems, etc.).Collaborate with operational teams to optimize workflows and warehouse layouts using data and advanced analytics.Coordinate the implementation of new automation projects, overseeing all phases from planning to delivery and evaluation.Monitor and analyze performance using data analytics and machine learning tools to optimize KPIs related to warehouse productivity and quality.Monitor operational flows, related productivity, and KPIs of the warehouse under responsibility.Support Operations in daily work by analyzing data and processes to improve flows and carry out production follow-ups.Support colleagues in the administration of the relevant warehouse for active and passive invoicing, budget creation, and profit and loss accounts.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in STEM2-3 years of experience in managing continuous improvement and automation projects in logistics and non-logistics sectors, in/for multinational or Italian companiesCross-functional operations experience (engineering, solution design, customer support, professional services, managed services, or other operational areas)Solid skills in process analysisFluent in Italian and EnglishExcellent knowledge of Office Suite, ExcelNice to have: Warehouse Management System or ERP systemExcellent organizational, analytical and managerial skills; teamwork orientation; strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with diverse stakeholdersAnalytical and problem-solving skills and ability to design innovative and sustainable solutionsTeamwork orientation with experience in cross-functional teams and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersInnovative mindset and curiosity for emerging technologies with a passion for experimentationInnovation-driven approach to identify and evaluate new technologies for continuous warehouse process improvementsExcellent listening and communication skills to understand requirements and develop targeted solutionsProficiency in requirements gathering and analysis to translate operational needs into technical specifications
