Legal Counsel – Metlen Energy & Metals
METLEN Energy & Metals is a global industrial and energy company focused on the energy transition and green metallurgy. We are seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join our Legal Technical Contracts team in Milan.
Responsibilities

Review, draft, and negotiate EPC and O&M contracts and supply‑chain agreements (e.g., service contracts, general terms and conditions) to protect client interests in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Provide legal support across the Renewables Business Unit, covering business development, origination, permitting, M&A, corporate transactions, PPAs, project financing, and construction—primarily in Italy and Eastern Europe.
Advise stakeholders on legal frameworks, regulations, and compliance matters relevant to the construction and energy sectors.
Conduct in‑depth legal research to ensure counsel is aligned with the latest legislation and regulatory developments, in coordination with the Senior Legal Counsel.
Collaborate with external legal advisors to address and resolve complex legal matters.
Coordinate and structure legal workflows and responsibilities in close alignment with the Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Legal.

Qualifications

Qualified lawyer in Italy and member of the relevant professional body (Bar Association).
Minimum of 3–5 years of legal experience in the renewable energy sector in Italy, either in‑house or in law firms advising energy clients.
Strong technical expertise in renewable energy project development, acquisitions and disposals, EPC and O&M contracts, and PPAs, ideally with exposure to Italian and broader European markets.
Proven ability to manage external legal counsel, including obtaining fee quotes and overseeing legal spend within predefined budgets.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration and cross‑functional coordination.
