Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – School of Health Sciences, UNSW
Location: Kensington, Sydney. Employment type: Full‑time, 35 hours per week. Duration: Continuing. Remuneration: Level B from $127 k, Level C from $155 k base (+17 % super and leave loading). Work rights: Visa sponsorship not available; candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia.
About the School
The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding and serves education agendas across four pioneering health professional programmes – Exercise, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. This expansion aims to shape the future health workforce in Australia and beyond.
Why this role matters
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will contribute to educational excellence across all health professional programmes, leading student development in professionalism, innovation in healthcare and career pathways. The role reports to the relevant Discipline Lead and collaborates with other disciplines to advance interprofessional education within the Faculty.
Responsibilities
Teach and develop curriculum across all health professional programmes.
Lead student skill development in professionalism and innovation.
Collaborate across disciplines to enhance interprofessional education.
Drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
Engage in initiatives to improve the educational experience of students.
Qualifications
Registration or accreditation as a health professional in Australia.
Level B: A PhD in a health discipline (preferred; significant clinical and education experience acceptable). Breadth of professional practice or education experience in multidisciplinary teams. Evidence of commitment to maintaining discipline knowledge. Experience in teaching, learning design, and delivery at undergraduate/postgraduate level. Interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to support and inspire diverse students.
Level C (additional to Level B): Significant experience in teaching and learning design across multiple pedagogical approaches, especially interprofessional education. PhD in a health discipline. Strong track record of teaching excellence. Demonstrated curriculum development and improvement. Evidence of research with high-quality outcomes that improve education or health outcomes. Passion for educational excellence.
