Overview
The SDS Lead Engineer is responsible for the design and development of products for the subsea oil fields distribution system. You will work in a multicultural team of cross‑functional specialists, defining product requirements, designing new products and developing new solutions for existing products. You will contribute to technological development, provide technical information and support clients and colleagues, and lead and coordinate suppliers during product design, manufacturing and testing.
Responsibilities
Establishing technical requirements based on customer functional specifications and project needs in compliance with international codes and standards.
Leading design development activities such as CAD modelling and document creation, ensuring alignment with requirements and schedule.
Collaborating cross‑functionally with other teams and departments to align interfaces, design, activities, and deliverables.
Presenting design outcomes in design reviews when and as relevant.
Managing engineering suppliers from a technical standpoint, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with applicable technical and contractual requirements.
Providing engineering support to program management and other stakeholders.
Supporting the sourcing team through procurement, manufacturing and testing of designed products.
Providing consultancy advice to the project bid team.
Qualifications
BSc or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Expertise in 3D CAD modelling.
Robust mechanical design background.
Proactive and willing to take ownership and responsibility.
Strong customer‑facing skills, focused and project‑oriented, capable of delivering in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills, fluent in English.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Subsea equipment knowledge and relevant design methodologies.
