The role involves working with graph databases and semantic web technologies, focusing on data representation, retrieval, and UI integration.Positions available:1 Junior Developer (1–4 years of experience) – full-time onsite1 Senior Developer – flexible: onsite, near-site (within 2h travel), or remote (minimum 20% onsite)You will contribute to software development in semantic web, data visualization, and search technologies used by a major European institution.YOUR TASKSDesign and develop scalable Java applications with GraphDBWrite and optimize SPARQL queriesDevelop and maintain ETL processesImplement new features and extend applications built with Java and graph databasesCreate and integrate UI filters, data presentation layers, and backend servicesManage development environments and CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in architectural decisions and evaluate technology optionsOptionally support front-end styling and interactionsCollaborate with stakeholders on product improvementsSupport Proof-of-Concept creation and adaptive developmentYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEStrong Java development experienceHands-on experience with SPARQL, RDF, and GraphDB (e.g., Ontotext, Blazegraph)Knowledge of semantic web concepts such as OWL and SHACL is advantageousProficiency with Elastic Search is a plusAbility to work independently and proactivelyUnderstanding of front-end/backend data flowExperience with CI/CD and version control (e.g., Git, Jenkins)Previous experience in EU institutions is beneficialBonus: project management experience or familiarity with institutional workflowsADDITIONAL INFORMATIONContract type: Permanent or freelanceJunior: On-site, 5 days/weekSenior: On-site or near-site (within 2 hours from Kirchberg) or remote with at least 20% onsiteRelocation required if beyond 2h travel from KirchbergWe value diversity and inclusion.
