IT Systems Engineer (Boomi) – MCC Label

Primary Purpose
Operate as a liaison between multiple work streams to effectively integrate Enterprise Systems by programming automated Boomi ETL data translations that incorporate Business Rules.
Work with other teams on projects to design mapping and translation processes that optimize the Enterprise Integration Platform.
Design, develop, and build integration code while providing specifications and working documentation.
Collaborate with the testing team to help develop and execute testing plans.
Assist with integration planning and execution.
Provide integration support from implementation through post‑Go‑Live.
The Role
Translate business problems into cost‑effective solutions using technology, automation, and improved business processes.
Interact with business units and customers to evaluate problems and provide cost‑saving solutions.
Lead requirement‑gathering sessions for Boomi integrations, define solutions, document specifications, and develop use cases for new integrations and change requests.
Provide project structure with project management, cost analysis, lifecycle management, and appropriate monitoring and documentation.
Assume Boomi support and management responsibility of the designated application, including day‑to‑day activities, maintenance (upgrades, changes, security), documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
Optimize system performance through monitoring and tuning.
Maintain systems with new versions, security patches, and testing.
Plan and manage disaster recovery.
Improve development and project deliverable lead times through organized practices, accurate requirements gathering, prototyping, and structured test plans.
Maintain and validate documentation for accuracy and integrity.
Interpret business requirements for developers and systems for users.
Develop test plans and work instructions/procedures for related systems.
Provide second‑tier support to the Service Desk as a subject‑matter expert.
Resolve incidents and respond within prescribed SLA.
Ensure accuracy of Knowledge Base articles for selected applications and systems.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science/Engineering, MIS, CIS, or equivalent job experience.
Substantial experience in business systems analysis, systems integrations, project management, systems development, or ERP/EDI/ETL support.
Proven experience in technical writing and team leadership.
Considerable working knowledge of:
Boomi Integration Platform Design and Development or similar.
Database scripting and stored procedures (PLSQL/SQL).
Programming (VB or VB.NET).
ERP systems (Globe‑Tek, Radius, SAP).
SOA integration methodologies (APIs, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON).
EDI standards (ANSI ASC X12, UN EDIFACT).
A good understanding of systems development life cycles and requirements gathering is desired.
Previous manufacturing‑environment experience supporting integrated ERP systems for a distributed organization is highly desirable.
Experience eliciting requirements from multiple business stakeholders.
Understanding of technical design issues as this is a technical role.
Excellent critical‑thinking, troubleshooting, and root‑cause‑analysis skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Effective technical‑writing skills.
Experience supporting applications on Windows or Linux servers.
Additional Information
To apply for this role you must already have the right to live and work in Italy and have the ability to travel unrestricted within the European Union. Visa sponsorship is not provided. The role is hybrid‑based with occasional on‑site meetings; candidates should be within reasonable travel distance of the Lucca manufacturing site. English is the required language for cross‑border collaboration.
