Overview
The IT Project & Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for managing complex IT projects and serving as the main point of contact between the business and stakeholders in Italy and other regions. The BRM ensures alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives, driving successful project outcomes while enhancing collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Location: Milan. What You’ll Be Doing
Project Management: Perform day-to-day project management activities for all project phases to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
Coordinate project activities with IT project team members and business owners/stakeholders.
Track performance against objectives and develop corrective strategies when objectives are not met.
Create, manage, and update project charters, schedules, risk management plans, communication plans, project budgets, gate reviews, and other PM documentation in accordance with the SDLC and PMLC.
Work with project team members and management to secure resources and funding.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to define project scopes and schedules.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and data sources.
Translate business needs into clearly documented requirements and functional specifications with business analysts and architects.
Provide regular status updates and maintain metrics to ensure transparency on team performance.
Manage vendors and hold them accountable for their delivery activities.
Identify and coordinate cross-project dependencies.
Communicate with executive leadership on project risk analysis, status, and requirements affecting strategic direction.
Ensure that projects comply with audit requirements.
Business Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, acting as the primary IT–business contact in Italy and other European countries.
Assist business leaders in formalizing and managing demand for IT services, prioritizing technology projects, and ensuring solutions support business objectives.
Ensure technology projects provide maximum return on investment.
Provide IT performance results to business managers, including status on maintenance and operations, project portfolio, and tools/process improvements affecting business performance.
Proactively identify opportunities for IT to provide innovative solutions and drive value.
Advocate for the business within IT, ensuring stakeholder needs are met.
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of project management experience for complex application, data integration, and AI-driven technology projects.
Detailed knowledge of project management and SDLC methodologies.
Experience managing mid-sized to large IT integration and AI-enabled projects independently.
3+ years’ experience within Commercial Insurance.
Strong facilitation skills to manage cross-functional discussions and bridge business and IT priorities.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships and align IT deliverables with business objectives.
Strong management skills in a matrix environment, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable IT deliverables, including AI-based solutions.
Experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Knowledge of AI technologies, data pipelines, and automation tools; multi-disciplinary IT knowledge with deployment experience.
Experience using Project and Portfolio Management tools (e.g., MS Project).
Proficiency in managing vendor relationships.
