IT Manager Job Description
The IT Manager is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. He/She supervises the implementation of our company’s computing needs.
The IT Manager manages and maintains the computers, printers, Internet connections, televisions, cabling, email/network accounts, audio/visual systems and phone systems for the property (guest and in-house). You will also maintain all network domains associated with the hotel and ensure connectivity for staff and guests.
Position Overview
The IT Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of our computer systems, supervising the implementation of computing needs and maintaining various IT infrastructure components for the hotel.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day activities of the IT function to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
Engage Vendors and IT Team to identify, diagnose and resolve all business systems incidents and problems.
Develop and maintain relationships with technical vendors, third-party business partners, and service providers. Ensure service providers perform to service obligations.
Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to hardware & software installation, use, and licensing agreements.
Install and test corporate-approved program changes to the hotel computer systems.
Understand all standards and features of hotel front office systems, point of sale systems, and other systems, including security, reports, manager functions, utilities, and user functions.
Perform local systems backup, ensuring critical data is protected and functional.
Ensure that the computer room fire protection, temperature control, and power requirements meet security specifications.
Control all user IDs, passwords, and security parameters.
Establish, document, test, and communicate emergency procedures for inoperable systems.
Work with the Engineering department to maintain in-room technology.
Manage special projects as assigned by management.
Create training programs and resources for staff on IT systems and tools.
Assist hotel guests with technical requirements and issues.
Adhere to Corporate IT instructions and provide reports timely.
Ensure all critical systems are available 24/7.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT-related fields.
At least five years of experience in the field; hospitality experience preferred.
Proficiency in English and Italian, both verbal and written.
Experience with a variety of software and hardware, with recent training and experience.
Experience with phone systems, Wi-Fi hardware, and office tools such as printers and AV equipment.
