Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.In this role, work with a team of engineers responsible for designing standardized test equipment used on the shop floor that can be built at scale as per the factory demands for contract manufacturing as well as Kuiper factory locations, optimizing provisioning and testing time by partnering with design engineering and software teams, partner with Contract Manufacturer site representatives and provide recommendations for design for manufacturing. In this role you will work across the org with many software and hardware teams identifying requirements, prioritizing critical efforts and providing updates to senior management and stakeholders.Key job responsibilitiesLead and conduct complex system-level analyses across multiple subsystems to evaluate design alternatives and optimize manufacturing test infrastructure architectureDrive technical strategy and architectural decisions for test systems, balancing performance, schedule, cost, risk, and scalability requirementsDevelop and implement processes to facilitate communication of system design/architecture with partner teams including contract manufacturers, software teams, and hardware engineeringLead technical risk assessments and failure mode identification for manufacturing test systems, establishing test strategies and acceptance criteriaDerive and synthesize requirements for system efficiency, operational excellence, and user experience across the manufacturing test infrastructureIdentify and frame needs for analyses that balance impact and feasibility, conducting trade space studies to optimize test system designLead collaboration across diverse technical teams (software, hardware, RF) to establish design goals and technical specificationsPropose and implement changes to system architecture that improve performance, robustness, and extensibilityEducate and mentor others on systems engineering best practices and tools, driving standardization across diverse systemsIdentify and escalate execution and technical dependencies in relation to schedule, managing cross-functional trade-offsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable industry experience2+ years of non-internship professional experience in IT, automated test equipment (ATE) or embedded systems support5+ years experience in project management skills including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing own tasks and those of other team members for multiple projects.Experience with embedded system test rack configuration, integration and optimizationExperience with hardware/software integration and validation processesProven track record of implementing process improvements in manufacturing environmentsHighly organized and autonomous, very detail oriented and willing to learn new skillsPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systemExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organizationExperience working with contract manufacturers (CMs)Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, RUST, Golang, JAVAExperience with embedded software deployment and provisioning processesExperience troubleshooting and debugging technical systemsExperience driving technical standardization across diverse systemsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
