Role description: The Mechanical Engineer combines the technical expertise of mechanical design with the organizational and leadership responsibilities of project management. They are tasked with developing innovative mechanical systems or products and overseeing the successful completion of design work from start to finish.Main tasks and responsibilities:Design work: The Mechatronics Engineer designs mechanical (Mechatronic) systems or products using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed 2D or 3D models of components and assemblies. Responsibilities include feasibility analysis, development of new products, cost estimation in cooperation with Procurement and Production, creating specifications for suppliers, supporting suppliers with design changes, developing and testing prototypes, selecting appropriate materials, maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), performing stress, thermal, and fluid flow analyses (manually or using FEA tools like ANSYS), creating technical drawings and manuals, and ensuring designs meet regulatory and safety standards.Project management: Executing projects on time and within budget, proposing corrective actions in case of issues or delays, coordinating with other departments to ensure resource availability, leading project teams, ensuring effective communication, managing project budgets, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies (DFMEA/PFMEA). Final delivery involves ensuring the product is ready for manufacturing, providing detailed specifications, and overseeing post-delivery support such as troubleshooting and customer feedback.Education and experience: Degree in Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar. 5+ years of experience in a technical office environment, including team leadership. Knowledge of safety standards in machine design, main mechanical machining processes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric subsystems. Proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably Autodesk Inventor), simulation tools, MS Project, Jira, Trello, ERP systems, and MS Office tools.
