Each proton therapy center we build is a combination of cutting-edge technology, complex infrastructure, and close collaboration with hospital teams. The installation and operational launch of these systems require dedication, precision, and a strong partnership mindset.IBA is proud to collaborate with the Oncology Referral Center, Centro di Riferimento Oncologico IRCCS to bring advanced cancer treatment to more patients.As a Electromechanical Service Engineer, you will initially participate in the full installation of IBA’s proton therapy equipment during the first year of the project (installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy Centre, with a specific focus on the electromechanical equipment).Once installation is completed, your role will be to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly.The installation is expected to be completed within 11 months with a start planned on May-June 2026. The start date may be adjusted if necessary. The contract will start around January 2026, followed by training until the start of the installation (in Italy, Belgium and abroad).We offer a fixed-term contract of 15 months with the possibility of extension (4 months of training + 11 months of the installation).Challenges we trust you withAs an Electromechanical engineer, you are responsible for:During the installation phase (+/- 11 months)Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the electromechanical equipment (electrical and electronics cabinets, cooling systems, vacuum systems, high and low voltage equipment, etc.)Testing and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timingCritically analyzing data to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issuesCollaborating intensively during the installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of the equipmentTroubleshooting the equipment including solving electrical and mechanical issuesEnsuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and servicesDuring the Customer Service phaseMaintaining and troubleshooting the equipmentOperating the system and providing technical support to the medical staff during patient treatment and clinical operationsEnsuring the client requirements are met in term of technical performance, timing and safetyTraining customersCarrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment (shift work)Upgrading and improving the system in collaboration with the R&D (Research and Development) departmentWhat we valueYou have:A degree in engineering (Electronics, Electro-mechanics or Mechanics)Relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems, as well as experience with different tools like cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC regulation loops, drivers, sensors, electric motors positioning equipment, high and low voltage equipmentThe ability to troubleshoot large systems issuesThe ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasksKnowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulationsAnd you also areCustomer-orientedDriven, proactive and hands-on personConscientious and organized, able to provide good quality reportingAble to follow rules & regulations and you able to deliver on strict deadlinesAnalytical, able to identify root cause of issuesA team player with strong interpersonal skillsWilling to travel extensively during the training period (+/- 4 months)A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, night work and weekends (up to 50% of your time)Able to speak fluently Italian and English
