ROLE SUMMARY
The International School of Modena part of the Inspired Education Group is seeking an experienced visionary Head of Primary / PYP Coordinator to lead our PYP (including the Early Years) from August 2026 .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide inspiring academic and pastoral leadership for the Primary and Early Years sections fostering a culture of inquiry and excellence.
Oversee the design implementation and evaluation of the IB Primary Years Programme in line with IB standards and practices.
Coach support and develop teaching staff through professional development collaborative planning and effective performance management.
Ensure high-quality learning environments and the smooth running of daily operations across the Primary and EY sections.
Collaborate with the School Leadership Team to drive whole-school initiatives and maintain alignment from Early Years through to the MYP / DP pathways.
Engage parents and the wider community as active partners in students learning journeys.
Model the IB Learner Profile and the Inspired Education ethos in all professional interactions.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
ESSENTIAL
Recognised teaching qualification and a university degree in education or a relevant field.
Significant experience in primary education including a proven record of successful leadership at coordinator deputy or head level.
In‑depth knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme and best practice in early childhood education.
Outstanding communication organisational and team‑building skills.
Commitment to inclusive inquiry‑based learning and to supporting multilingual learners.
PREFERRED
Previous leadership experience in an international or multicultural school setting.
Evidence of whole‑school strategic planning and curriculum innovation.
Familiarity with strategies for English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
