Hardware Engineer – Power Electronics and Microwave Design – Defense Industry
Brain Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer specialized in power electronics and microwave design to join an advanced engineering team in Rome. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of high-reliability electronic systems for demanding environments, combining expertise in RF design, power conversion, and thermal management.
Responsibilities

Design and simulate power and microwave circuits for mission-critical systems
Develop schematics, perform component selection, and guide PCB layout optimization
Conduct analysis on signal integrity, thermal behavior, and EMC compliance
Support hardware integration, debugging, and validation phases
Collaborate with mechanical, system, and test engineers in multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

MSc/BSc in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
3+ years of experience in power or RF/microwave hardware design
Strong knowledge of SPICE, ADS, Altium, or similar EDA tools
Understanding of DC/DC converters, amplifiers, filters, and transmission lines
Fluent in English; Italian is a plus
Nice to have: experience with high-reliability or defense-grade electronics, knowledge of DO-160, MIL-STD-461, or ECSS standards
