Responsibilities
As a Training Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in developing and improving the training material for wind turbine blades handling and logistics. You will be motivated to acquire knowledge of transporting composite materials, blades parts, or whole blades. You will focus on modern training systems and materials, including process vision or digital enabling systems, with the training methods oriented to the receivers and factory logistics employees.
Design and optimize training material within the Handling & Logistics process
Analyze AS IS and future state of training material and systems
Create process roadmaps and plans for future states
Define training material requirements and specifications if material shall be developed by others
Standardize generic layup training materials
Contribute to building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility
Investigate and solve training issues using structured methods such as 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams
Apply continuous improvement principles using Lean tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final training material quality
Education
Bachelor of manufacturing engineering or equivalent level
Train the Trainer or other training education
Experience
6-8 years of developing training material mainly for unskilled workers
Training of shop floor employees
Planning of training for up to 100 persons
Developed/defined functional training material for employees with short or long education
Essential skills
Ability to assess skill gaps and define learning objectives aligned with business goals
Knowledge of adult learning principles, blended learning, and experiential training formats
Experience working with engineering managers and subject matter experts to co-develop content for functional training material
Ensuring training aligns with ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal policies
Familiarity with LMS and e-learning tools
Gathering input from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs
Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems
Data-driven decision making; use of 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and organized
Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones and work with stakeholders
Be an integral part of cross-functional product development projects
Customer-oriented with the ability to understand the full business value chain from a customer perspective
