Iberdrola Group – a global energy leader with more than 170 years of history.Job TitleGrid Specialist – ItalyLocationRome, ItalyPosition OverviewThis role is a Grid Specialist within Iberdrola’s Grid Connection Department, responsible for the analysis, design, and facilitation of grid connection projects for renewable power plants and energy storage systems across Italy.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and construction of renewable energy plants, following the grid process from the initial stage to the final energization phase (STMG, PTO, STMD, GAUDI, EON, ION, FON Dogane process or E distribuzione in case of MT plant)Technical grid due diligence for new projects submitted with feasibility analysis and for authorized projectsRelations with all stakeholders involved in the origination and permitting phases until construction, including Terna and other DSOsStrong relation with TSO and DSODevelopment and construction of energy storage systems (BESS)Support Iberdrola in defining grid connection solutions through technical assessmentSupport pipeline growth by evaluating grid constraints and connection opportunitiesFollow up regulatory framework to define suitable grid connection solutionsAnalyze technical and economic conditions for connection to electrical grids (TICA), the Italian Grid Code and applicable regulations (CEI, Enel, ARERA, etc.) to assess projects for correct and effective development, construction, and operationAnalyze and follow up the electrical infrastructure development plan of the Italian gridLiaise with stakeholders such as Terna, Enel, and other DSOs during permit requests and energization phaseAnalyze STMG, STMD and any grid technical studies, participating in TSO technical tables if necessary during engineering and permittingSupport CAPEX and Contract Manager in defining project requirementsMaintain technical and commercial relationships with TSO and DSO to optimize projects during development and support the construction phase up to CODSupervise activities conducted by providers that may affect final connection of projects under constructionSupport implementation of new connection trends such as batteries, hybrid solutions, etc.Lead electrical due diligence processes, coordinating external consultants and internal support teamsEducationElectrical Engineering (specialty in Energy) or equivalent university degree.ExperienceAt least 4 years in a similar position.Skills and Technical RequirementsExtensive knowledge of electrical connection solutionsStrong knowledge of electrical engineering (power systems, electrical installations)Outstanding problem‑solving ability and focus on resultsKnowledge of the Italian regulatory framework and permits processes for grid connection, including Self‑Consumption systems (SDC, Direct line, Energy Communities)Direct contribution to growth objectives for capacity and economic results of the Renewables Division, aligned with the strategic planExploration of business opportunities considering group policies, processes and methodologyHigh initiative; role highly linked to the company’s growth strategyKnowledge of wind farm and solar plant construction is a plusAdvanced skills in MS OfficeLanguagesItalian (native)English (professional skills)Spanish is a plusSeniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionOtherIndustriesElectric Power GenerationEEO StatementOur culture is strongly committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative environment.
