Role Purpose
To strengthen effective collaboration with political and institutional stakeholders and their ecosystem—supporting technological innovation, sustainability, and the competitiveness of Made in Italy—Schneider Electric is expanding its Institutional Affairs and Strategic Alliances Department. We are looking for a highly experienced professional who, as Leader of Institutional and Political Relations, will create and coordinate opportunities for dialogue with political bodies and institutions, leveraging the company’s technical and applied expertise to serve collective goals of sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor European and national regulatory developments, providing timely analysis of risks and opportunities aligned with company priorities, and ensuring regular updates.
Build and maintain effective relationships with agreed political and institutional representatives and their teams, fostering transparent and value-driven engagement for the country and community.
Translate strategic business topics into positioning arguments and policy guidelines, harmonizing and evolving contributions from business units and functions.
Prepare documents to showcase the company’s proposals and value chain, respond to consultations, draft position papers, disseminate notes, and defend corporate positions.
Contribute to advocacy processes on energy and climate topics targeted at political and institutional stakeholders, ensuring operational execution.
Support the development of content and approaches for alliances within the ecosystem, including partnerships and framework agreements.
Suggest and assist in internal and external communication activities for the function, ensuring continuity.
Collaborate with Schneider Electric’s European Governmental Affairs team in Brussels.
Profile Requirements
8+ years of experience in public affairs, with direct collaboration with political bodies, parliamentary/government actors, and/or institutional relations in medium-to-large private companies.
Complementary experience in business, marketing, or communication roles, ideally within the energy sector or foundations focused on sustainability and circular economy.
Strong understanding of economic trends and industrial, climate, and energy-related issues.
Ability to manage complexity—both internal and external—and solve problems using strategic vision combined with pragmatism.
Results-oriented, with proven ability to manage pressure and deadlines and maintain strong organizational skills.
Intellectual curiosity and a proactive attitude to work on “blank sheets,” creating value through co-design.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to produce modular and customizable documents for different audiences—from general public to C-level executives.
Fluent in English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
Degree in Political Science, Economics, Law, Energy Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
