The AgroFresh organization has 40 years of post-harvest experience across a broad range of crops, including pome fruit (apples / pears), citrus, avocados, and mangoes - and we continue to expand into new countries and crops and pre-harvest.ResponsibilitiesGlobal R&D Project Manager will guide the entire R&D project portfolio from proof of concept to commercial launch; act as the single point of accountability for the project portfolio; understand the product development process; manage the projects across all functions to deliver milestones on time; enable meeting the project’s financial targets.Excellent project management, communication, organization, delegation, and presentation skills; communicate the vision, strategy and supporting data for all work within the project and effectively communicate timelines, changes and progress to all levels of the organization.Working to optimize a Stage Gate process; track decision points that enable data driven project decision-making, such as options to accelerate or to stop progression, based on the data; provide scenario planning to anticipate and plan for different development pathways.In parallel with these workstreams, meet regularly with Finance, Regulatory and Commercial teams; may provide updates to the Senior Leadership Team.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn order of relative importance : Manage the project management process across the entire global R&D portfolio that engages all relevant functions.Ensure all functional lines impacting the project are performing in an efficient and productive manner.Recommend changes to strategy and resourcing whenever appropriate with confidence and assertiveness.Communicate all facets of the program upwards to R&D and Commercial leadership.Education & QualificationsAdvanced science degree (e.g., chemistry, biology, engineering) with a preference for Master’s degree or higherProject management experience requiredProject management certification highly desirable5+ years of experience preferredSkills & ExperiencesHigh level of safety and ethical integrity.Strong leadership skills demonstrating vision and strategy.Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functional lines.Ability to articulate financial impact and risks at product development stages.Demonstrate commercial and business acumen.Experience in driving change in the organization.
