                                                                                                                            Eurowind Energy is a Danish privately owned Independent Power Producer, which over the years has become a leading developer and operator of photovoltaic, onshore wind and P2X projects. The Company has over 2 GW of operating assets under management in several countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Italy.
Based in Milan, the Company’s Italian subsidiary is responsible for development, construction and operation of projects in Italy, with support from Headquarter and from our competence centers in Portugal and Romania. The company experiences rapid development and an increasing number of new projects, with a growing Italian team. Therefore, we are currently looking for a GIS Analyst to support our team and projects in Italy.
Role & Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a proactive GIS Analyst to support our business development, project management and EPC teams, carrying out geospatial analysis and site mapping.
Maintaining the local ArcGIS platform in cooperation with the local team and Danish ArcGIS team, including preparing the preliminary layout designs;
Collect and maintain data from the system to complete applicable analyses;
Conduct research and identify suitable areas using GIS for new projects and identify or originate new growth opportunities based on certain criteria;
Assess and facilitate project development and acquisition opportunities for onshore wind, solar, and other renewable projects in Italy;
Performing analysis, feasibility, and risk assessment studies on projects;
Consult with management and the team to identify current and future business objectives;
Producing schedules and timelines for assigned tasks in accordance with the needs of the project, as well as proactively track progress and request help, where needed;
Technical writing both towards producing project deliverables and supporting business development and project activities, as needed;
Further tasks related to the above;
The mandatory profile
You will succeed in the position if you have:
Experience in working with GIS (preferable ArcGIS) and enjoy working with maps/data;
A Degree in computer science, geography, surveying, engineering or related field
Strong communication skills, an ability to build relationships, and deal with landowners and consultants as well as the wider EWE team;
Are self‑motivated with an ability to work on several projects at the same time in a challenging fast paced environment;
Have a desire to learn/progress;
Have a desire to visit sites and travel to head office in Denmark and other EWE offices in Europe as required; and
Are fluent in Italian and proficient in English (speaking and writing) as you will be working with colleagues across Europe.
It is preferable, but not essential, that you have knowledge about various GIS‑data formats such as WMS and WFS, and about national and regional GIS‑datasets
Knowledge and experience in environmental and permitting constraints analysis will be considered a plus.
Written and verbal communication in other European languages will be considered a plus.
