Location:
SLB Geosolutions in Milan process and interpret geophysical data such as seismic, electromagnetic, and potential field data from around the globe, acquired with all acquisition systems in all environments, with application to oil & gas, geothermal, mining and carbon storage.
Job Summary:
The Geosolutions Geophysicist is responsible for contributing to various seismic processing projects with a broad range of different acquisition and data processing techniques and requiring knowledge and understanding of geophysics and geology.
The position reports to a Project Manager.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Process seismic data using the appropriate technology and software.
Define, build and submit processing jobs, interpret results, provide recommendations on parameters and recommend further testing, if required.
Validate the accuracy and efficiency of all testing and production job sequences.
Ensure that processed data is delivered to customers on schedule.
Interface consistently with customers and advise them regarding processing parameters.
Keep abreast of developments within seismic data processing and communication
Investigate and report on problems encountered during data processing.
Forecast resource requirements and report project status to Project Manager.
Project archiving.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in seismic processing.
MSc or PhD in Geophysics, MSc. Telecommunication or Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent geoscience.
Successful candidates are curious and motivated, excellent communicators, enjoy learning and solving problems, and work well in teams.
