FOAA is seeking a Functional App Analyst to support our Accounting Onboarding team.The Functional Consultant will partner with the Accounting Onboarding team (based in the U.S.) to support various Amazon businesses to launch their products and services by automating their accounting use cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join fast‑pace businesses at Amazon. The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to support financial systems and architecture. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in cross‑functional teams, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.The Functional App Analyst manager will independently manage a team of Functional Analysts, establish structures that enable their team to deliver on projects. Partner with customers, team members, and other teams on what projects move forward and in what priority order. A successful candidate will track team level activities in terms of customer engagement, adherence to SLAs, and execution of projects and programs, customer roadmaps and successfully deliver projects that execute that vision of the org.Key job responsibilitiesIndependently manage and develop a team of Functional Analysts, establishing robust structures for project deliveryPartner with cross‑functional teams to prioritize and execute strategic accounting onboarding projectsTrack and optimize team performance through customer engagement metrics, SLA adherence, and project executionDesign and implement automation strategies for complex accounting use cases across multiple business unitsCollaborate with customers and team members to develop comprehensive project roadmapsA day in the lifeYour day will be a dynamic blend of strategic problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and technological innovation. We're not just processing numbers; we're building the financial infrastructure that supports Amazon's global business ecosystem.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance) experience3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experienceExperience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligencePreferred Qualifications4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experienceExperience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
