OverviewCorticale s.r.l., an innovative company in the field of neurotechnology and advanced electronic systems for clinical and neuroscience research, is looking for an FPGA / Firmware Developer to join its multidisciplinary R&D team.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and verify digital architectures on FPGA for real-time high-performance neural acquisition and stimulation systems.Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of embedded logic within complex mixed-signal electronic platforms.Design and implement digital architectures on FPGA using Verilog.Develop and verify communication interfaces and data-processing modules (e.g., SPI, LVDS, AXI4-Stream, DDR).Perform simulation, synthesis, and timing closure using vendor-specific toolchains.Integrate FPGA logic with microcontrollers, ADC/DAC systems, and high-speed data acquisition boards.Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and system-level validation.Maintain technical documentation, version control, and design traceability.RequirementsDegree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent field.Proven experience in FPGA design and HDL coding (Verilog).Familiarity with simulation and verification tools.Understanding of digital electronics, signal integrity, and timing analysis.Ability to interpret schematics and work closely with PCB designers.Experience in debugging digital systems using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.Good knowledge of technical English.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; teamwork orientation.Preferred qualificationsExperience with mixed-signal FPGA systems or real-time data acquisition architectures.Knowledge of AXI interconnects, DMA controllers, DDR interfaces, or embedded soft-core processors.Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for simulation, testing, or data analysis.Background in medical devices or scientific instrumentation projects.What we offerA stimulating, multidisciplinary work environment.The opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies in the field of neural interfaces.Full time contract.Contract type, compensation, and role level commensurate with the candidate’s experience and skills.ApplicationsPlease send your updated CV and, if available, a portfolio of relevant projects to: hr@corticale.comRef. code: FPGA_DEV_2025This job posting is open to candidates of all genders (Italian Legislative Decree 198/2006) and to persons of all ages and nationalities, in accordance with Italian Legislative Decrees 215/2003 and 216/2003.Personal data will be processed in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.Seniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Full-time
