The challenge
Sales is a primary process of any public transport company. The complexity of sales is increasing due to competition and changing consumer expectations. Innovation, revenue management, personalisation and multi-channel are essential factors to be successful in our market.
The first international customers used S3 Passenger for production quite some time ago. The first customer based in Germany; Ireland followed not long after. Nowadays S3 Passenger is used by many international transport companies, including Eurostar, VIA Rail and SJ Swedish Rail. In countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and Canada, customers buy train and bus tickets through our software. For the position of Business Consultant (Trainee), you will travel internationally on a regular basis to visit (new) customers.
The traineeship
This traineeship guides you during an intensive 13-month programme to become an independent Business Consultant who advises customers in the sales and distribution process on the use of S3 Passenger.
From day one you will be part of a team and learn on the job. You will get to know our S3 product and how we work. There is a considerable focus on consultancy skills from the outset. The next step is building domain knowledge (e.g., pricing strategy, revenue management) and applying this knowledge in projects.
You will not only get to know our internal systems, but also those of the customer. This will allow you to start working with all the knowledge you have gained.
Through coaching on the job, you will learn the tricks of the trade from an experienced colleague. You will be assigned to projects for foreign customers lasting 6 to 24 months. You will initially be involved for a shorter period during your traineeship. You will be involved with our S3 Service desk during part of the traineeship, where existing customers can ask questions.
This will provide you with a lot of knowledge about S3 Passenger in a relatively short period of time so that, once you have completed the traineeship, you will have a good foundation. Your work locations are Amersfoort and/or Enschede. Additionally, you will regularly work at customer locations abroad, which is an exciting aspect of an international job.
The interesting part of the traineeship at Sqills is that you are in control. It is your traineeship. We offer you all the different possibilities, but it is up to you which possibilities you use.
About you

A completed university education;
Affinity with/interest in IT;
Strong analytical capabilities;
Good communication skills;
An ambitious mindset;
Interested in working abroad regularly;
